My story

, LLC

I had always been a petite sized 3/4 for most of my life and I stayed that way from just being moderately active in the gym. Then I got married and as a result of enjoying the "good life" (traveling and eating out with very little exercise) my husband and I both put on weight. I, in my small petite frame soon became 140 lbs! The biggest I had ever been and I definitely was not a size 3/4 anymore.

So I started working with a trainer and I tried to eat better. I ended up getting my weight back down to 125 lbs. and fitting back into my 3/4 and 5/6 clothes. And then - I got pregnant. I remember crying at the kitchen table (yes, pregnancy can make you very emotional), fearing that I would never get my body back - but oddly enough it was after pregnancy that I got in the best shape of my life.

I lost most of the baby weight about 3-4 months after my son was born. I was back to size 3/4 and 5/6, but I was what I call, "skinny fat". I had no muscle tone and I just felt loose and flabby. So, I got with another trainer who gave me such a gift. He taught me how to eat and he taught me how to train. He was also my indoor cycling instructor and he inspired me to want to inspire and help others. I was fortunate enough to be able to work with him before he moved out of the area.

I started training and changing my eating habits when my son was 12 months. Within 2-3 months I completely transformed my body. I actually became a size zero and weighed 105 lbs! Unbelievable for a 30 year old mother! I don’t think I had ever been a zero - I had to shop in the junior section for clothes. My husband started eating the same way that I was eating and he lost 20 lbs and has kept it off for the past few years we've been living this way. We were never ones to "diet", we just looked at this as a lifestyle change and it did change our life!

Soon after, I started teaching fitness classes at the gym and I had so many people coming up to me wanting to know what I was doing to look so fit. I began writing everything down and soon I had a small packet of information on how to eat. I began passing it out for free to anyone who asked. It wasn't long before people started asking me to train them on how to work out and that's how I began helping others with their nutrition and training.

I had also met some figure competitors and bodybuilders who encouraged me to compete because I was in such great shape. Figure competitions are for women who have athletic muscular tone, but still have femininity. I decided to try it. I competed in my first figure competition at only 100 lbs. in May of 2004 and I placed in the Top 5 on my first show! Only the top 5 receive a trophy and qualify for Nationals. I competed again in July of 2004 and earned 2nd place at 108 lbs. I was expected to compete in two more upcoming shows. I had already been invited to photo shoots and it was anticipated that I might win the shows and be ready to try for my Pro-Card in the season ahead.

However, in the process of getting ready for competitions the competitors are encouraged to "drop" their carbs, water and sodium from their body to get the optimum stage look. It's a dangerous game to play around with the balance of electrolytes in the body and as I was preparing for my next show in October of 2004 I ended up having a heart arrhythmia as a result of my electrolytes becoming off balanced. It was a very scary experience, and it was then that I realized that this show or trophy was not worth risking my health or possibly my life.

So I decided to take a break from the competitions, which gave me time to reassess my goals and to put some balance back into my life.  If and when I decide to compete again, it will be with the wisdom of experience and caution to ensure that I am staying as healthy and natural as possible.  I am committed to helping others who are interested in competing in a healthy manner as well.

I hope that you will find your experience with Physique Complete to be professional, inspiring and life-changing! We believe that to get the body you've always wanted you must combine both nutrition and training. Physique Complete can help you to make a life style change that is healthy, balanced and that can actually change your body to a complete physique.

Last, but not least, although the body is the temple of our soul and we want to build it up, don't forget to build up your soul too. We must be balanced from the inside out. I can tell you, having the "perfect body" can not make you happy by itself, nor can it fill the inner void that many of us experience at one time or another. Some things, those deep inner things, can only be fulfilled by God. So once you understand that, you can put all the other things in perspective.

"Eat clean, Train hard and Believe God".
