Text Box: WE'RE BRINGING FITNESS TO THE HOMELESS...
We are so honored that the Tri City Homeless Coalition came to Physique Complete, LLC requesting our assistance with providing group exercise classes to the homeless community.  Kaiser Foundation has given them a grant to offer services that will help lower the number of obesity and other health related illnesses in the community.  Physique Complete, LLC is providing instructors to teach Yoga, Kickboxing, Zumba (the latest Latin dance aerobics craze), Body Sculpting and possibly a Toddler Tumbling class for the children at the homeless shelter.  We will be serving three different locations, two in Fremont and one in Castro Valley.

Text Box: BE LIKE THE TORTOISE...
 I recently saw an organizing consultant on TV speaking about how she does a load of laundry a day to keep the laundry from piling up.  And, I began thinking of my "neat freak" friends who are constantly picking up after themselves and others.  Their consistency and immediate response to the "mess" is what keeps the laundry and household chores from getting out of control.  When you really think about it, most everything is easier to manage when it's managed on a daily or weekly basis.  Think about tax time...are you scrambling at the last minute to get all your receipts and documents?  Or - throughout the year are you filing them in designated folders?  Do you make sure you have no dishes left in the sink before going to bed?  Or do they not get attention until there's no more room in the sink to put the dishes?  
It's obvious where I'm going with this right?  Some of you out there are not paying attention to your bodies or your health until it's a problem or difficult to manage.  And how much more important are our bodies or our health than dishes?  Consistency with your training and eating is absolute key when trying to transform your body or your health.  I always think about dusting as a great example...I can dust today and everything looks great...but within a day or two, dust is sure to be back again.  You may have a great workout at the gym on Saturday - but you surely can't take a week off and expect that the one day is going to give you lasting results.  Consistency is what gives lasting results.  You may not see the results immediately, but if you just keep doing it...eventually you will.  Like the tortoise who beat the hare in the race, not because of speed, but because of a consistent pace that kept him (or her) moving forward towards the finish line.  
What does it take?  Well, for me - I like to get my workouts in Monday through Friday so I can take the weekends off to enjoy life outside of the gym.  Just start with baby steps - do a little something each day to move you towards your finish line...and gradually start to build up the amount of days/time/intensity that you put into it.  Need more help?  Sign up for Personal Training to get that extra push, motivation, accountability and knowledge about how train.

ANGEL ISLAND HIKE

Our trip to Angel Island was a great success....we had a group of 28 - some came to relax with their family and others branched off and did a strenuous hike.

PHYSIQUE COMPLETE FORMS AN ENTITY...

Physique Complete has grown so much over the past two years as a Sole Proprietorship. However, we have recently filed articles of organization as a Limited Liability Company (LLC).  We are very excited about this entity formation. Jeanene Cannon is President and CEO, and Terry Cannon is the Chief Operating Officer.  In addition we also now contract with group exercise instructors to serve the contracts that we have established with organizations and/or companies.  Special thanks to the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights and to Morrison & Foerster, LLP (MOFO).

Text Box: STROLLER BOOT CAMP SCHEDULE...
For the month of August we will have a Sunday morning Stroller Boot Camp class at 9am held at Lake Elizabeth.  In September and October, we will offer three different classes during the week.  One will be a two day class on Mondays & Wednesdays at 9:30am and then we'll have a Tuesday at 1pm and a Thursday class at 1pm.  All Fall classes will be held at the Irvington Community Center Gym/Park.  Registration for all classes is available online now.   More Details
